When you boot up your laptop and it takes forever as you log in to your account, your laptop is running very slow, or when you log in to your Windows account and all your programs start automatically then this post is for you guys. When we install software sometimes it will ask permission to open at startup, and we grant that permission without noticing. Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 users can follow this post, so let’s get started with Disable Startup Programs in Windows 8/Windows 7/Windows 10.
Run Dialog Box
In Windows 7 just click on “Start Menu”, next In search box type “Run” and press ENTER.
In Windows 8 and Windows 10 just press “Windows Key” and “R” key in your computer keyboard. A dialog box will appear.
In Run dialog box type “Msconfig” and press ENTER or click OK.
Microsoft System Configuration menu will appear.
- Click on “Startup” tab.
- Then Click on “Open Task Manager”.
In Task Manager Menu Click on “Startup” tab. You will see a list of programs that will start when you log in to your Windows account. In picture below you can see I have few programs that are Enabled. I want to disable u torrent web, its already enabled and when ever I log in to my Windows account u torrent will start automatically.
- Check the status of program if its enabled or disabled.
- In my case u Torrent Web is enabled, So let’s disable it.
- Click and select the Program from the list you want to disable.
- Next click on “Disable”.
Now check the picture below the status of program “u torrent web” is changed from enable to disable. Now close “Task Manager” menu by clicking on Cross sign.
Close “System Configuration” by pressing Enter key or click on “Ok” to apply changes.
This is how you can disable any program that you don’t want to run at Windows startup.
